Going Up

On this day in 1935 a Flemington, New Jersey jury finds Bruno Hauptmann guilty in the 1932 kidnapping and first-degree murder of aviator Charles Lindbergh's 21-month old son. A key piece of evidence in the trial was a handmade ladder, supposedly used in the kidnapping, which matched wood and carpentry equipment found in Hauptmann's home.
This Ladder Journal 1, perfect for writing ransom notes — the image is also on a Green T-Shirt — is from the resplendent and well-designed CafePress.com Peacemeal shop.
