Today in 1938 DuPont introduces the first commercial product to be made with nylon yarn — a nylon bristled toothbrush. And, from the Department of Propaganda, on this date in 1942 The Voice of America begins its radio broadcasts.

These two events are mysteriously intertwined via the whimsical and surreal design on this Dental Hygiene Tote Bag, capturing "the feel of a WWII-era propaganda poster" — the entire series can be found here — from the Wacky Words division of the stuffed-to-the-gills CafePress.com Barry's World shop — "Wacky Surreal & Wholly Unique Gifts" — whose work I featured on November 10, 2006.
